The Unspoken Burden
Everyone here hiding their own deep sorrow,
Hesitating to speak of their truth, day after morrow.
With a fake smile worn upon their face,
Why do they wish to seem happy in this world's space?
Hesitating to speak of their truth, day after morrow.
With a fake smile worn upon their face,
Why do they wish to seem happy in this world's space?
Something's truly happening here, don't you agree?
Something that needs our attention, for all to see,
But why, I wonder, does no one seem to care?
Or perhaps in life's race,
everyone just lives as they are, right there?
Sometimes, a fear grips me, thinking this way,
Each person will grow lonelier day by day.
Yes, many may be around them, it's true,
But when needed most,
They'll find themselves alone, just a few.
How long can one bear this burden, deep in the heart?
If not shared, with time, it might tear them apart.
I just hope it's not too late, that everyone will see,
To present themselves to the world, just as they truly be.
They won't care what others think, setting their spirits free,
And then they'll accept themselves, just as they are, happily.
