A Journey of Acceptance

The path the world mostly takes,
Perhaps is not the one for me.
My own pace, my own slow breaks,
A different rhythm, wild and free.
With courage I've build,
I'm trying to slowly grow.
Trying to move forward my way,
Even though my pace is slow.
My faltering steps, I carefully mend,
For bigger pupose, what I now comprehend.
Now all my focus, true and deep,
Upon myself, shaping the promises I keep.
Can you believe it, it's true,
My own clear path, I'm cutting through.

Just by thinking, "What will people say?"
I've held myself back, day by day.
Lacking faith to light my own true way,
I've tested myself, come what may.
Now less self-hatred, I display,
Accepting myself, as I am today.
The world won't truly get me, nay,
But I understand myself better, hey!
They might think I'm selfish, by the way,
But I don't care too much now, I'm happy to say.
